Abstract:
Sensory imagery holds great importance for
poets, who utilize this phenomenon and incorporate it into their poetry, making
it an integral part of their work. This enhances the exploration of how poets skillfully
employ sensory imagery to create beautifully crafted poems. The paper begins by
providing a brief history of the poet, covering his early life, his pursuit of
knowledge, and his literary contributions in both poetry and prose. It also
examines the concept of sensory imagery according to modern Arabic language
critics, shedding light on its functions and role in Arabic poetry. To explore
the poet’s ability to use sensory imagery, the researcher adopts an analytical
descriptive method. Finally, the paper concludes that sensory imagery often
enriches the reader with hidden meanings, as the poet uses these elements as
channels for creating vivid poetic imagery throughout the collection.
