Characteristics of the Fulfulde Nominal Class Suffix and its Implication on the Syntactic Principle of Antecedence

Abstract:

This is a study funded on the opinion that the characteristics of Fulfulde nominal class suffix and its implication on the syntactic principle of the antecedent. It discusses the structure of nominal phrases, and the classes of nominal phrase as well as determine the factors behind nominal classes in Fulfulde language. The data of this research was extracted through verbal interviews with the native speakers, which was collected and interpreted through its English glosses as well as analysed based on the framework ethnolinguistics characteristics. It also reduces the ambiguity that is responsible for the apparent ease with which metaphoric expressions are employed by native speakers of Fulfulde.
